Star Reminders: What a wonderful fun filled night our PTO sponsored on Friday night! The harvest festival was filled with beautiful decorations, great games, and lots of laughter. Thank you to all of our parents who donated items for our baking basket! It was filled to the top!
I am sending home our Halloween party list on Monday. Please check your child's homework folder tonight. The party/parade will take place on Monday, October 31st. Progress reports will also be sent home on Thursday. There is no school on Friday because of Nevada Day. Homework: Read for 20-30 minutes each night and record on Scootpad reading log. The students will also have either a multiplication fact sheet or xtramath to work on each night. I am also assigning a math assignment on Scootpad which is due every Friday. The students will have 1 math paper to turn in everyday either a fact sheet or math practice sheet. Starring this week: The students will be working on the end of the unit math test packet in class on Monday and Tuesday. The will then take it home to study on Tuesday and Wednesday night. They will take the test 90% on Thursday. This completes our first unit in math. The students are busy researching and writing their president reports. They may bring pictures of their president for their reports. We will be putting the reports together the week of Halloween. Star Student of October: Ariel Santos will be eating lunch with Mrs. Heavey this week. Ariel follows the life skills on a daily basis and works extremely hard in class. Way to go Ariel! Star Reminders: The harvest festival is this Friday from 5:00 -8:00 p.m. There will be lots of food, games, and baskets to raffle off. Please try to preorder your bracelets this week, so that you don't get stuck in a long line. Our "baking basket" looks amazing! Thank you to everyone who donated items!
PTO is collecting BOX Tops. Please ask your friends and neighbors to start collecting them for our school. They may be dropped off in our classroom in the red bucket by the door. Homework: Read for 20-30 minutes nightly and do your reading log on Scootpad. You must have 4 entries this week to earn a bead for your necklace. Monday: Math facts 1 minute Scootpad math assignment due by Friday Tuesday: Xtramath Math practice sheet Wednesday: Math facts 1 minute Thursday: Xtramath Scootpad ELA learning path 10 minutes Friday: Make sure your Scootpad reading log is completed for the week. Starring this week: The students will be taking their first math test which is 90% of their grade on Monday. They will also be taking their first reading test on Thursday and Friday which will also be worth 90%. We will be working on our rocks and minerals science unit and finishing it by next week. The students are half way through Charlotte's Web and doing a great job with their literature circle assignments. Keep up the great reading! In writing our focus is researching presidents. They will be writing a report on their president, taking notes, and writing paragraphs. Lots of fun and exciting things are happening with our little third grade STARS! |
