Homework: Read for 20-30 minutes nightly and record on ScootPad.
Monday thru Thursday: Homework packet is sent home for the week and must be returned on Friday. You will also have a 1 minute math fact page and xtramath to do each night.
Friday: Return you homework packet and make sure your reading log on ScootPad is completed. Have a fun and safe weekend!
Starring this week:
Reading: The students will be finishing the novel 7 x9 = Trouble on Tuesday and will take an AR quiz on the book. Our focus in reading is literature asking and answering questions and main idea/details.
Math: In math the students are finding the unknown number in multiplication and division problems. Students are also working on fact families. For example: Give them 3 numbers like 5, 3, 15 and have them write the fact family number equations for multiplication and division.
5 x 3= 15. 3 x 5 = 15. 15 ÷ 5=3. 15÷ 3=5
Science: FOSS kit on water and climate. We are having Meteorologist Sam Argier from Fox 5 news come on October 10th to talk to us about weather.
Writing: The students finished typing their 5 paragraphs on Sacagawea. We will be starting our new writing unit on Monday.
