Star Student: Congratulations to Dylan for being our Mt. Lion of the month for September. He is a hard working student in class and adds a lot to our class discussions. Keep up the great work!
Starring this week:
Reading: We are reading the novel 7 x 9 = Trouble! in our groups. Our weekly reading tests will be focusing on literature asking and answering questions.
Math: We are focusing on the 5's for multiplication facts. In math the students are showing how multiplication and division are related. For practice you can give students 3 numbers like: 4,5, 20 and have them write the fact families for multiplication and division. You can also give them problems with an unknown number and see if they can find the missing number. For example: 6 x ___ = 42.
Science: We have the flood control lady coming on Monday to speak to the students about flood safety. Our FOSS kit is focusing on water and climate.
Writing: Students will be typing their first 5 paragraph essay this week on Sacagawea. I can't wait to read all of their stories!
